Leona Goes Global
Even since Leona Lewis won X-Factor we've known that Simon Cowell had big things planned for her. 'Bleeding Love' cemented our love for her, here in the UK, but now she's going for the big prize - America.
And what's the best way to do that? Why, it's to appear on America's most important chatshow of course. This week Leona and Simon took time out to appear on Oprah Winfrey's couch - and it seems the Queen of Chat is a massive fan. Leona's rocketed up to #8 on the American Hot 100 and if everything goes to plan she could be looking at #1 next week.

Congratulations to Leona as she has just become the first British female to hit #1 in the US in twenty years! ?Bleeding Love? has been at the top spot on US iTunes for two weeks now and today it debuts on the Billboard Hot 100 at #1. The last time a UK female achieved this was an incredible 27 years ago. Simon Cowell said, ?I am incredibly proud of Leona, what she has achieved in the past year is simply amazing. I am very happy for her.? =]
